Drivers must meet the Federal DOT medical certificate requirements, and are required to submit and keep their Fed Med cards updated. Federal regulations require that all CDL holders self-certify their category of commercial operation and are required to have a valid DOT card, unless the commerce type driven is qualified as ‘Excepted’.

DOT Physical Exam For CDL
Federal Law requires that all commercial drivers pass the DOT health exam. This exam checks to see if an applicant is fit enough to drive safely now, and in the near future. Upon passing the physical exam successfully, the driver has 24 months before the exam needs to be taken again, unless there is a health issue, in which case the exam will need to be clinically performed sooner. Our clinic will collaborate with your Primary Provider to ensure the Fed Med CDL card is renewed – to keep our drivers on the road.
